The Growatt Weather Station enhances solar energy monitoring through high-precision sensors, delivering real-time environmental data to maximize system efficiency. Key Sensors & Their Functions:

1. Irradiance Sensor (PV Pyranometer)
This Modbus RTU-compatible sensor acts as both a radiation meter and a reference cell, ensuring high-accuracy measurements essential for solar applications. The SEVEN irradiance sensor features an internal cell temperature sensor and supports up to five additional sensor inputs, connecting seamlessly to the Growatt Datalogger via RS485.

2. Ambient Temperature Sensor
Mounted inside a solar radiation shield with four ventilated plates, this sensor provides accurate air temperature readings while avoiding interference from direct sunlight—crucial for assessing temperature-related efficiency losses.

3. Module Temperature Sensor
Positioned on the back of solar panels, this sensor tracks PV module temperature, a key factor in calculating the Performance Ratio (PR) of the solar plant.

4. Wind Speed Sensor (Anemometer)
Monitoring wind conditions helps optimise system cooling and assess potential mechanical stress, with data relayed directly to the ShineMaster monitoring platform.

5. Relative Humidity & Ambient Temperature Sensor
This dual-function transmitter measures both humidity and air temperature, helping to evaluate environmental impacts on solar panel performance.
